Founder and CEO, Sutudu Pictures
Khoa D. Le is a filmmaker, entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Sutudu Pictures LLC, doing business as Sutudu.TV—an independent-film distribution and streaming platform built by a filmmaker for filmmakers, audiences, and the people who support their work.
The name Sutudu comes from the Vietnamese phrase “Sự Tự Do,” meaning “freedom.” That meaning is at the center of the company’s mission: giving filmmakers greater freedom over how their work is distributed, marketed, discovered, and monetized.
Khoa built Sutudu after experiencing the challenges of independent filmmaking firsthand. Completing a film is difficult, but finishing the film does not automatically create an audience. Many filmmakers secure placement on a platform only to discover that their work receives little marketing, limited visibility, unclear reporting, and no lasting connection with viewers.
Sutudu was created to address that gap.
At its heart, Sutudu is designed to build community around independent film. It brings together filmmakers, fans, supporters, sponsors, festivals, and industry partners so that a film’s release can become the beginning of a relationship—not the end of the filmmaking process.
Through Sutudu.TV, audiences can discover and support independent films through transactional, subscription, and free ad-supported viewing. Filmmakers gain a platform intended to connect distribution with audience development, transparent performance information, marketing, sponsorship opportunities, and long-term community building.
Khoa approaches Sutudu from the perspective of a working filmmaker. He directed and executive-produced Walt Before Mickey, an independent feature about Walt Disney’s early career, and later directed Bezos: The Beginning. His additional directing and production work includes narrative films, documentaries, television, commercials, and branded media. These experiences gave him a practical understanding of what filmmakers face before, during, and especially after production.
Alongside Sutudu, Khoa is the founder of Kvibe Studios, a media marketing agency established in 2005. Kvibe’s work in storytelling, production, post-production, branded media, and marketing helped shape Khoa’s understanding that a strong film needs more than production—it needs positioning, visibility, and a clear path to an audience.
Sutudu is also initiating the Sutudu Film Festival Impact Tour, an effort to bring the platform’s community-building mission into festival markets and local communities. The Impact Tour is intended to connect filmmakers and festivals with audiences, supporters, cultural organizations, sponsors, and regional partners. Its purpose is to help worthwhile films continue building awareness and relationships beyond a single screening or festival weekend.
Khoa’s long-term vision is to create an independent-film ecosystem where filmmakers do not work alone, fans are more than passive viewers, and supporters have meaningful ways to help creative work grow.
